This national event aims to highlight the creative artistic achievements and special capabilities of choral and group singing ensembles, showcase examples of the best works, create a space for artistic dialogue and interaction, enhance the auditory and artistic knowledge of the community regarding choral and group singing, and improve the quality of produced works and their dissemination in a valuable format within society. It officially commenced its activities on October 29, 2023.
The festival consists of two competitive and side sections; in the competitive section, groups can participate in the categories of choral, choir, and a cappella (performance without instruments). The side section of the festival includes books, theses, and dissertations on topics related to group singing, with winners being announced in this section as well.
The thematic axes of the National Fajr Choral Festival include: resistance and epic, national, ritual, and free. Choir groups can consist of a maximum of 20 members, choir groups can have up to 32 members, and a cappella groups can also have a maximum of 32 members. There are no age restrictions for participating in the festival. The festival will be held in four stages: the first stage is dedicated to submitting works, the second will be regional, and in the third stage, the winners of the regional section will enter the guidance phase. The fourth stage will be national, held in Tehran, with the announcement of the winners.
